From September to December, Arteta’s team plays all six Premier League matches that immediately follow Champions League games at the Emirates Stadium. Manchester City and Manchester United each have three home games and three away games, with Newcastle having the most difficult schedule.
Eddie Howe’s side finished fourth to secure a place in Europe’s top club competition, but they may struggle in 2023/24. They only have two home games after Champions League group matches, and both are in the final two weeks of November and December, when their qualification for the knockout stages may already be determined.
While Arsenal plays every game after the Champions League group games at home, they do face some difficult opponents. They host Tottenham in the North London Derby on September 23rd, following their first Champions League game on September 19th or 20th, and they host defending champions Manchester City a few days later.
